World Suicide Prevention Day (Sept. 10th, 2010):

WINNIPEG:

  • Sept. 10th: 10 to 11:45 AM: World Suicide Prevention Day activities: Panel - "Helping Someone Survive A Suicide Loss" (Winnipeg Art Gallery); 11:45 to 12 Noon: Walk For Hope (Art Gallery to Legislative Building); 12 noon to 12:45 AM: Hope Gathering at MB Legislative Building. BRANDON:

  • Sept. 9th, 7-10 PM.SafeTALK - Suicide Awareness For Everyone. Teaches Community members to recognize people with thoughts of suicide and how to connect them to suicide first-aid resources. Free. Call 571-8355 to register;
  • Sept. 9/10 ASIST - Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training. Cost: $75/$50 full time students. Call 571-8355;

Followed by a candlelight vigil in memory of those who have died by suicide. Red River North Regional Library, 303 Main St. Selkirk.
